The Division of University Advancement is responsible for advancing the mission, vision and priorities of Sonoma State University. As the North Bay’s premier four-year public university, we proudly serve Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano and Sonoma counties.
Philanthropy is vitally important to fulfilling the University’s obligation to develop and maintain excellent programs of undergraduate and graduate instruction grounded in the liberal arts and sciences. Contributions from alumni, friends, faculty, staff, students, corporations and foundations provide essential support for the margin of excellence to sustain our forward momentum.
With your ongoing help, we will continue to build on our strengths, meet complex needs and promote the aspirations of our campus community. I invite you to explore this website to learn about the many ways in which you can engage and support Sonoma State University.
The generosity of Sonoma State donors is transforming lives every day. We are grateful for your partnership in your University’s important work.
A revised Gift Fee Policy has been implemented, effective July 1, 2019. This policy change allows University Advancement to enhance the administration and stewardship of philanthropic donations and increase the fundraising efforts for the University. The University and the SSU Foundation are working on developing an enhanced donor experience and more comprehensive reporting and stewardship. Through enhancements to our structure, technology and systems, this will allow for an annual report to come out in late summer or Fall of this year to recognize our donors and describe how the development program enhances the University. These improvements will also allow SSU to be better prepared for a future comprehensive campaign.
Attending SSU would have been impossible without scholarship support. I am grateful for the donors whose generosity allows me to reach for my dream of becoming a math teacher.
