Support the Sonia Kovalevsky High School Mathematics Day
The Sonia Kovalevsky High School Mathematics Day celebrates the life and legacy of the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in Mathematics, and honors the participation of all women in math. Hosted by Sonoma State University’s Mathematics Department, this event invites high school students to discover the beauty and creativity of mathematics through hands-on workshops, discussions, and interactive activities.
Participants will explore how math connects to their personal interests while engaging with a community of peers and mentors who share their passion for problem-solving and discovery. The event aims to inspire the next generation of mathematicians by showing that math is joyful and relevant.

Why It Matters
When we invest in this experience, we’re investing in future students who will apply mathematical thinking to science, technology, design, and social progress. Your contribution provides the tools, materials, and community that make this transformation possible.
Every student who participates leaves with more than knowledge. They gain the confidence to engage, the curiosity to explore, and the belief that their ideas belong in every equation, shaping the future.
